“A House of Love” 🏠🫀 4x4” Mini Surreal Painting
Sometimes when I am having an emotionally heavy day, I’ll paint to help soothe my moods. This painting is the result of said rough day. I sat down and painted whatever came to my mind, I shut out the world and jumped into this one.
I’m not entirely sure what it all means…memories? (that’s my childhood cat in the window, my old front door, etc), failures? (the heart and the front steps are cracked, the round window is leaking something) the universe? (The shapes pouring out of the heart valves are black with stars from the vast sky) worries about mortality? (a dark ghost in a window forshadows the end that awaits us all).
What does it mean to you? I feel like surreal pieces such as these can be interpreted any way you see fit.
I’m both very attached and proud of this one. It measures 4x4”, has a sawtooth hanger for easy hanging, and is sealed with a matte varnish to protect the paint from chipping or fading. The edges are painted black and the back is signed, dated and logo stamped.
*I asked my son to title this because I was stumped. He came up with “A House of Love”, isn’t that sweet?
