“Zombie Hand” Air Dry Clay on Upcycled Frame
I found the frame for this piece at Target. It had a corny bathroom message on it, but I really loved the size of it and the fact that it already had sawtooth hardware in the back. I just knew I could use it to make something better. I took air dry clay and pressed it against the framed and built a zombie hand on top. The bones inside of the arm used to belong to a small plastic skeleton. I painted the piece with acrylic paint, sealed it several times to protect it and then added moss and dried flowers. I lightly brushed a little bit of black paint on top of the moss to make it just a little bit more spooky. The zombie’s “blood” is red glitter pieces.
*Full disclosure: one of the zombie’s fingers (the one that is pointing down the most) cracked off when transporting it from the last market I did, but no fear! I fixed it up and glued it back in place really really well. As a result, this piece is marked much lower than what I would have originally charged for it. If anything happens again to this piece, the buyer can reach out to me anytime and I will issue a refund, repair it, or try to duplicate a new one.
